Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address — Used for authentication, account recovery, and important notifications about your license
  • Password — Securely hashed and stored; we never have access to your plain-text password

License and Activation Data

To manage your software license, we collect:

  • Machine fingerprint — A unique identifier generated from your device's hardware characteristics, used to verify license activation and prevent unauthorized use
  • License activation status — Information about when and where your license was activated

Important: The machine fingerprint is a one-way hash and cannot be used to identify specific hardware components or track you across devices.

Your Code and Projects

We do NOT collect, store, transmit, or have access to:

  • Your source code or project files
  • Your AI conversations or prompts
  • Your file system contents
  • Any data within your projects

Your code stays on your machine. Codeon operates locally. When you use AI features, your prompts are sent directly to your configured AI provider (e.g., Anthropic Claude) using your own API key. We are not an intermediary in this communication.

API Keys

Codeon requires you to provide your own API keys for AI services (e.g., Claude, OpenRouter). These keys are:

  • Stored locally on your device in encrypted form
  • Never transmitted to our servers
  • Used only to communicate directly with your chosen AI provider

Usage Analytics (Optional)

We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics to improve Codeon, such as:

  • Feature usage frequency (which tabs/features are most used)
  • Application crashes and error reports
  • General performance metrics

This data is anonymized and cannot be linked to you personally. You can opt out of analytics in the app settings.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Authenticate your account and verify your identity
  • Manage and validate your software license
  • Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries
  • Send important notifications about your account or license
  • Improve and optimize Codeon's features and performance
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions (via Stripe)

Third-Party Services

Codeon integrates with the following third-party services:

Supabase

We use Supabase for authentication, database storage (account and license data), and edge functions. Supabase processes your email and account information. Supabase Privacy Policy

Stripe

We use Stripe to process payments. When you purchase a license, Stripe collects and processes your payment information. We do not store your credit card details. Stripe Privacy Policy

AI Providers (Your Choice)

When you use AI features, your prompts are sent directly to your configured AI provider using your API key. We recommend reviewing your provider's privacy policy:

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:

  • All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms
  • API keys are encrypted when stored locally
  • Database access is protected by Row Level Security (RLS) policies
  • Regular security audits and updates

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@codeonai.net.

Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain data for legal or regulatory purposes.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access — Request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction — Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion — Request deletion of your account and data
